Dental Hygienist - Thousand Oaks, CA

Position: Dental Hygienist Monday - Wednesday 8am-5pm

Responsibilities:

1. Conduct initial dental assessments and consult with dentists on patient care.
2. Clean and help protect patients' teeth (e.g., remove plaque, polish teeth).
3. Use dental instruments safely and efficiently.
4. Take dental radiographs (X-rays) and ensure they are clear and usable.
5. Educate patients on proper oral care and hygiene including brushing, flossing, and dietary recommendations.
6. Record and update patient dental history and treatment plans.
7. Provide preventive dental care such as fluoride treatments and sealants.
8. Administer local anesthetic agents.
9. Engage in ongoing professional development to stay updated on the latest dental hygiene practices and technologies.
10. Adhere to all health and safety regulations, including the wearing of personal protective equipment and maintaining sterilization protocols.
11. Manage patient appointments and ensure timely workflow.
12. Build rapport and trust with patients, especially with children and those who fear dental procedures.

Qualifications:

1. Valid Dental Hygienist license in the state of California.
2. Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Dental Hygiene from an accredited school.
3. 3 years of experience as a Dental Hygienist (preferred but not mandatory).
4. Proficiency in dental software.
5. Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
6. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
7. Current CPR certification.
