Monday through Friday – 8:30am to 4:30pm
$20hr to $23hr depending on experience.
Research Institute providing clean and timely data to our pharmaceutical sponsors while offering a diversity of research options for our trial participants is looking for Medical Assistants to join their team in Canoga Park.
Summary: Seeking a skilled Medical Assistant to join our research team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting our medical staff and ensuring that patients receive the highest quality of care. This position requires a strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, and various clinical procedures. The Medical Assistant will work in a fast-paced environment, assisting in both urgent care and internal medicine settings.
Responsibilities:
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and procedures.
- Perform routine clinical tasks such as taking vital signs, preparing patients for examinations, and documenting medical histories.
- Administer basic life support as needed and assist with emergency procedures.
- Manage patient records using electronic health record (EHR) systems.
- Conduct coding for patient diagnoses and treatments to ensure accurate billing.
- Prepare and administer medications as directed by a physician or nurse.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the clinic or urgent care facility.
- Provide support in specialized areas such as pediatrics (PICU) and geriatrics as required.
- Blood Draw/Phlebotomy.
- Vitals.
- Administering Injections.
- Participant intake.
- Scheduling participants.
- EKG
- Exam room preparation.
Qualifications:
- Bilingual: Spanish & English is a must.
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred, particularly in urgent care or internal medicine environments.
- Knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology is essential for effective communication within the team.
- Familiarity with coding systems for billing purposes is highly desirable.
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is required prior to employment.
- Experience working with diverse patient populations is a plus, particularly in pediatrics or geriatrics.
