Job Description

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) with experience in Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) to join our team. This position is for the night shift on a per diem basis, providing flexible scheduling options. If you are passionate about delivering exceptional care to premature and critically ill newborns, including post-critical (step-down) neonates and infants requiring close monitoring, this opportunity is for you. Responsibilities:

Provide comprehensive nursing care to premature and critically ill newborns, including post-critical (step-down) neonates and infants requiring close monitoring, in the NICU 1 setting.

Monitor vital signs, administer medications, and perform necessary interventions to ensure the well-being of the infants.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement individualized care plans.

Educate parents and family members on neonatal care techniques and provide emotional support.

Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.

Adhere to hospital policies, protocols, and regulatory standards.

Qualifications:

Valid and unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of California.

Minimum of 1 year of recent NICU nursing experience.

Knowledge of neonatal nursing principles, practices, and procedures.

BLS and NRP certifications required.

Ability to work independently, make critical decisions, and handle stressful situations with composure.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Compensation: $74-$76 per hour

Job Requirements

Special Care Nursery Level II Designation: This unit provides care for post-critical (step-down) neonates and infants requiring close monitoring but less care than a NICU, but more comprehensive than is required by normal newborn/nursery patients. According to the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP), this would be a Special Care Nursery Level II designation.
