A Mental Health facility whose mission is to provide hope and healing through mental health services to children, adults, and families through individual and group therapy, school-based mental health services, case management, and other therapeutic services is looking for an LVN to join their team in Visalia.
Summary: Seeking a strong Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) who provides basic care to the patients. For this job, it is essential for a candidate to complete a formal vocational nursing program, thus, it takes about 1 or 2 years to become an LVN. Qualities that a licensed vocational nurse must possess are excellent communication skills, compassion for the patients and their families, good interpersonal skills, flexible working, quick decision-making, problem-solving skills, etc.
Responsibilities:
- With a primary responsibility of supporting the Psychiatrist, provide support as directed to ensure that organizational goals and objectives are accomplished, and operations run efficiently.
- Schedule client appointments with designated doctors.
- Update and review charts with parents, therapist and psychiatrist.
- Record vital signs, height, weight & blood pressure.
- Record and review medication management along with doctor’s recommendations.
- Maintain an organized filing system, paper and electronic documents.
- Prepare internal and external documents for psychiatry, therapist, court officials.
- Communicate with clients, parents, therapist and case managers by answering their questions, passing along relevant information, and addressing various issues.
- Develops and sustains a level of professionalism among staff and clientele.
- Uphold a strict level of confidentiality.
- Monitor the progress of patience protocol and documents.
- Monitor suicidal ideation or self-harming clients. Knowledge of Crisis Intervention form.
- Call and schedule new psychiatric referral patients timely.
Qualifications:
- Three years’ experience as an LVN.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Must have completed an LVN program.
- Superb written and verbal communication skills.
- Bilingual preferred.
- Strong time-management skills and the ability to organize and coordinate multiple projects at once.
- Strong self-starter and able to work independently.
