Monday through Friday – 8am to 5pm
$44hr to $70hr depending on experience
Busy clinic focusing on culturally sensitive and evidence-based therapy and assessment, where each client receives personalized treatment programs and collaboration between families and therapists, is seeking an Occupational Therapist to join their team in Glendale.
Summary: Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Pediatric Occupational Therapist to join our private practice, providing therapy services to children in both home and clinic settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with pediatric populations and be passionate about supporting children in developing the skills necessary to succeed in daily activities, including motor skills, sensory processing, and self-regulation. This role offers a unique opportunity to make a meaningful impact in both home and clinic environments, collaborating with families, caregivers, and multidisciplinary teams to provide individualized care.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments for pediatric patients, including evaluating fine motor skills, sensory processing, cognitive skills, and daily living activities.
- Use standardized tests, clinical observations, and parent/caregiver input to develop individualized plans.
- Assess functional abilities, including self-care (e.g., dressing, grooming), play skills, school readiness, social interaction, and sensory integration needs.
- Identify developmental delays, learning challenges, and sensory processing issues, to create treatment planning.
- Collaborate with other healthcare providers, including pediatricians, speech therapists, and physical therapists, to ensure a holistic approach to care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that focus on improving skills in motor development, sensory processing, self-regulation, cognitive function, and social participation.
- Provide therapy interventions to improve fine and gross motor skills, hand-eye coordination, sensory integration, self-help skills, and academic readiness.
- Develop strategies for managing sensory processing disorders, supporting emotional regulation, and improving functional mobility.
- Use evidence-based interventions, play-based therapy, and adaptive techniques to create engaging and effective therapy sessions.
- Collaborate with families to ensure the treatment plan aligns with the child’s needs and lifestyle, adjusting strategies as necessary.
Qualifications:
- Master’s degree or Doctorate in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
- Active state licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OT). Pediatric certifications (e.g., pediatric occupational therapy specialization) are a plus.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in pediatric occupational therapy, ideally in both clinic and home health settings.
- Experience working with children with a variety of conditions, such as developmental delays, autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, ADHD, cerebral palsy, and other neurological or developmental conditions.
- Knowledge of evidence-based pediatric therapy practices, including sensory integration therapy, motor development, and play-based therapy.
- Strong assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills to create effective, individualized treatment plans.
