Full time – Direct Hire
Monday through Friday – 8am to 5pm
$49hr to $100hr depending on experience
Busy clinic focusing on culturally sensitive and evidence-based therapy and assessment, where each client receives personalized treatment programs and collaboration between families and therapists, is seeking an Physical Therapist to join their team in Glendale.
Summary: Seeking a compassionate, skilled, and dedicated Pediatric Physical Therapist to join our growing private practice. This position involves providing specialized physical therapy services to children in both home and clinic settings. The ideal candidate will have experience working with pediatric patients of various ages, from infancy through adolescence, and be comfortable developing individualized treatment plans, educating families, and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough evaluations for pediatric patients to assess physical, developmental, and functional needs.
- Administer standardized assessments and outcome measures to determine treatment goals and objectives.
- Collaborate with parents/caregivers, pediatricians, and other healthcare providers to develop a comprehensive plan of care.
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans that address specific developmental, musculoskeletal, neurological, or sensory issues.
- Design therapy sessions to improve strength, coordination, balance, motor skills, posture, and mobility.
- Tailor interventions to the child’s specific needs, taking into account their age, abilities, and home environment.
- Provide in-home physical therapy sessions, working closely with families to implement treatment programs in the child’s natural environment.
- Conduct therapy sessions in the clinic, utilizing specialized equipment and techniques to meet the child’s needs.
- Offer guidance and support to families, educating them on exercises and strategies to continue therapy outside of sessions.
- Educate families and caregivers on the importance of physical therapy, home exercise programs, and functional strategies to maximize progress.
- Provide ongoing support and communication with parents/caregivers to monitor progress, address concerns, and adjust treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with teachers, school staff, and other community partners to support the child’s progress in multiple settings (e.g., home, school, community).
Qualifications:
- Masters degree in Physical Therapy from accredited program or Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited program.
- Active state licensure as a Physical Therapist (PT).
- Pediatric certification (e.g., Pediatric Clinical Specialist) preferred but not required.
- Minimum of 1 years of experience in pediatric physical therapy, ideally in both clinic and home-based settings.
- Experience treating children with a variety of conditions, including developmental delays, neurological disorders, musculoskeletal conditions, and congenital anomalies.
- Knowledge of evidence-based practice in pediatric physical therapy.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build rapport with children and their families.
- Ability to develop creative, engaging therapy sessions that motivate children to participate.
- Excellent organizational skills, including the ability to manage multiple patients and treatment plans effectively.
- Ability to work independently, as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
