Respiratory hospital providing high quality post-ICU care, specializing in ventilator weaning and serve medically complex patients dependent on a mechanical ventilator to breathe, is seeking Per Diem Radiology Technicians to join their team in Van Nuys.
Summary: Seeking a dedicated and skilled Radiologic Technologist to be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging procedures, ensuring patient safety, and providing high-quality images for accurate diagnosis. This role is vital in a fast-paced environment, where quick and precise imaging is essential for patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostic radiology procedures including X-rays, CT scans, and nuclear medicine imaging.
- Ensure proper positioning of patients to obtain the best possible images while minimizing exposure to radiation.
- Collaborate with physicians and healthcare professionals to discuss imaging results and assist in diagnostic evaluations.
- Maintain equipment and ensure it is functioning properly; report any malfunctions or issues immediately.
- Adhere to safety protocols and infection control measures to protect patients and staff.
- Keep accurate records of patient information, procedures performed, and any relevant medical history.
- Stay updated on advancements in radiologic technology and participate in continuing education opportunities.
Qualifications:
- Strong knowledge of anatomy and physiology to accurately assess patient conditions.
- Familiarity with medical terminology related to diagnostic radiology and imaging procedures.
- Experience working in an emergency room setting is preferred but not mandatory.
- Proficiency in operating CT scanners and understanding the principles of nuclear medicine.
- Ability to perform diagnostic evaluations efficiently while maintaining high standards of patient care.
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with patients, families, and healthcare team members.
- Strong attention to detail to ensure the accuracy of images and patient safety.
