Busy clinic focusing on culturally sensitive and evidence-based therapy and assessment, where each client receives personalized treatment programs and collaboration between families and therapists, is seeking a Pediatric Speech Language Pathologist to join their team in Glendale.
Summary: Seeking a dedicated and compassionate Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP) to join private practice. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality diagnostic and therapeutic services to children with various speech, language, communication, and swallowing disorders. The position involves working in both a clinic setting and through in-home visits, ensuring that clients receive personalized care tailored to their specific needs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults, assessing areas such as speech sound production, language comprehension, expressive language, fluency, voice, and swallowing.
- Use standardized assessment tools and non-standardized techniques to evaluate speech, language, and cognitive-communication skills.
- Identify any communication or swallowing disorders, documenting findings and developing appropriate treatment plans based on assessment results.
- Review patient medical and developmental history and consider environmental factors during evaluations.
- Establish treatment goals in collaboration with clients and their families, incorporating functional objectives to maximize outcomes.
- Develop individualized treatment plans that are based on the client’s specific needs, treatment goals, and functional communication abilities.
- Provide evidence-based interventions to improve speech, language, cognitive-communication, and swallowing.
- Utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches, techniques, and materials, adjusting strategies to meet the needs of both children and adults.
- Treat clients with speech disorders such as articulation and phonological disorders, stuttering, aphasia, apraxia, and voice disorders.
- Provide therapy for language delays, literacy skills, auditory processing disorders, and cognitive-communication deficits.
Qualifications:
- Master’s Degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program.
- Current state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist.
- Certificate of Clinical Competence in Speech-Language Pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) or equivalent.
- At least 1-2 years of clinical experience, preferably with experience in both pediatric and/or adult populations.
- Experience working in home-based therapy settings and familiarity with the challenges.
- Knowledge and understanding of a wide range of communication disorders, including speech articulation, language delays, fluency disorders, voice disorders, aphasia, and dysphagia.
- Proficient in assessing and treating a variety of speech and language issues across developmental stages.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
